This application allows you to record vocals over your own beats. It contains several screens.



The Quick and Dirty


1) Click Songs
2) Click Options
3) Click Create Song
4) Click Options
5) Click Queue Music track (a music track)
6) Select or Search for music in your library(make sure you have space)
7) Click Options
8) Click Add New Track (a voice track)
9) Click the voice track to enter the booth




Main Menu Screen

The home screen is the main menu screen. This screen contains the following options: Songs, Settings, and Help.

Help Menu Screen

Help menu opens the Help screen. This screen contains the following options: Help Contents, Share App, Report a Bug, Rate App in Market, Visit App Web site.

1 Back on the help screen returns you back to the main menu.

2 Help Contents opens the help dialog.

3 Share App allows you to share information about the application with your friends.

4 Report a Bug allows you to email the application developer when a bug occurs. This email contains information about your device, carrier, and current configuration.

5 Rate App in the Market opens the application detail screen in the Android Marketplace.

6 Visit App Web Site opens the application web site in the default browser.




Settings Screen

Settings menu opens the settings screen. This screen allows you to set the application preferences.

Songs Screen

Songs menu opens the Songs screen. This screen allows you to manage your song list. Starting with Sixteen Bars 2nd verse, songs are used to group tracks. A track can be a music track or a vocal track.

1 Back on the Songs screen returns you back to the main menu.

2 Options on the Songs screen displays the option menu for the song list.

2.1 Create Song creates a new song in your song list.

3 Long pressing on a song name opens a context menu for the selected song. This menu allows you to rename or remove the Song.

3.1 Rename Song opens a popup dialog that allows you to rename the selected Song.

3.2 Remove Song deletes the song and all tracks within song.

4 Tapping a song name opens the Tracks screen.




Tracks Screen

The Tracks screen allows you to add tracks to a Song.

1 Back on the tracks screen returns you back to the Songs screen.

2 Options on the tracks screen displays the option menu for the track list. This menu allows you to create a new track, queue music, open the song writer and open the tracks player.

2.1 Queue music option opens the music selection screen. Initially, this screen list all of music store in the device /sdcard/com.ubq.sixteenbars.tracks directory. It also contains a Search Music Library option.

2.2 Tracks player option creates a popup dialog that allow you to play the tracks in the current.

2.3 New Track option creates a new track for recording vocals.

2.4 Open Writer option opens a note pad that allow you to write your song lyrics.

3 Long pressing on a track name opens a context menu for the selected track. This menu allows you to edit track, copy track, and remove track.

3.1 Remove Track deletes the track from the song.

3.2 Copy Track creates a new track with the same content. This is useful when creating hooks or chorus.

3.3 Edit Track allows you update the track name and other settings. This option opens the track edit screen.

4 Tapping a track name opens the recording screen.




Select a Track Screen

Select a Track screen allows you to find music in your phones library. The Search Music Library option open a popup window. This window allow you to enter text to search your music library. Once a search is perform, the window populate with the search results. Selecting a track from the track selection screen creates a new track in the song.

Recording Screen

The Recording screen allows you to record vocals over tracks. This screen contains several buttons. In the application settings, you can set the application to display the song lyrics during recording.

1 Record starts the recording of vocals for the selected track.

2 This Track plays the recorded track.

3 Play plays the recorded track with the other tracks.

4 Other Tracks plays other tracks.

5 Stop stops the recording or play back.

6 The phone back button returns back to the Tracks screen.




It is required that you have your SD-Card installed. For better recording, kill other apps to make sure your device can be dedicated to encoding the sessions.

It is recommended you use your wired headphones when using this application.
